1. The meeting was called to order at 7:20 PM.  The minutes of the December 2, 2008, meeting were read and approved.
2. Financial report: Total assets - $5432.64
Checking account $647.78, cash with brokerage $2266.43, Money Market account $256.43, 150 shares of Templeton Dragon fund @ $15.08 = $2262.
3. The meeting called for February was postponed because of the snow storm.
4. Major topic of this meeting: Should SSAP convene another conference?  An important subtopic was trying to identify the key role that SSAP could or should play.
4.1 It is clear that SSAP could not put on another conference without additional human resources.  Several people came up with suggestions:
4.2 Barbara Ann: Contact the Crum Creek Sustainable Society, founded by Carol and Don Kennedy.  Its program is trying to change behavior.
4.2 Bill Marston: suggested contacting Bob Pierson. He talked about neighborhood, and spreading sustainability laterally.  He also raised a key distinction among sustainability organizations: Are they single focus, or local?
4.3 Donna Holsten: "Transition Towns" How do we expect to live as we transition to a sustainable social-economy?  How do we transition?
5. Other suggested contacts: Jaclyn Rhoads and the Darby Creek Valley Association.
6. Khiet will try to set up a meeting of many local Delaware County sustainability groups, so that they would know each other.  There will be no attempt to directly coordinate their programs.
7. Roland noted that there was little about sustainability at the Home show.
8. Khiet suggested a "Sustainability Fair" as part of a future conference.  People who are trying to do green jobs could put out literature, and talk to people about the work that they could do, such as insulating buildings.  Steve Lockard supported that idea, and noted that the individual states administer the economic stimulus funds.
9. A video, made in 2000, from the National Council of Churches "God's Creation and Global Warming" will be made available to the nearby Ministeriums.
Adjourned to refreshments and informal conversation, at 8:40 PM

                                             Ernest B. Cohen
